This community made up of the municipalities of Munitibar, Aulesti, Gizaburuaga, Amoroto and Mendexa was created in 1983.

The union has brought many benefits to every town, as it has helped them to develop and to carry out big project besides reducing costs. In this sense the industrial area of Okamika has been the biggest achievement of the Community, because it has served to stop the valley´s quiet death-sentence.
