Lea Valley - Climate in Lea Ibarra

Lea Ibarra has a mild and rainy climate. Because of the wet winds coming from the Atlantic, it does not stop raining throughout the year, and so it rains 181 days a year.

According to statistics, between 1.100 and 1.300 litres per cubic meter fall on the low lands and between 1.500 and 1.800 litres/ m³ on the high lands.

Sometimes it hails as well, mainly in October and April. According to the average calculations made by the weather station of Etxebarria, it hails 6,5 days a year, and it snows 3,3 days a year.

With regard to temperature, 14°C is the average. Needless to say that the temperatures become lower as we head for the interior and the higher lands, and that the opposite happens as we approach the seaside. January is the coldest month (7°C degrees average). August is the hottest, with an average temperature of 19°C.
