Munitibar
is situated where the roads to Markina, Durango, Lekeitio, Gernika
and Bilbao meet, and together with Oiz mountain, it constitutes
the southern border of the Lea Valley.
It has an area of 24,5 km² including the urban areas of Munitibar
and Gerrikaitz and four neighbourhoods: Berreño-Aldaka, Uriona,
Gerrika and Totorika.
The river Lea takes the name Oiz as it goes through this municipality,
and is fed by the brooks coming from the hills.
